Debra Collins - Founder and Artistic Director

Debra Collins is the founder, artistic director, and lead teacher of the Potter's Hand Ministries. She resides in Macon, GA with her husband Dennis and two sons Kyle and Pierce.

Debra holds a degree in Education from Georgia State University and has trained in dance intensely for the past ten years. Combining her two major interests, teaching and dance, was a natural progression for Debra. Her dance training includes a nine week conservatory as well as numerous summer intensives with Arts Triumphant. With American Academy of Ballet she has received a gold, a silver with distinction and two silver medals. She has participated in summer workshops and masters classes with Atlanta Ballet Company, North Carolina Ballet Company, Festival Ballet Company, Macon Moving Company, Christian International, Dancing For Him, Arts Afire, and Georgia College and State University. Areas of training have been an emphasis in ballet and have included jazz, modern, mime, folkdance, creative movement, writing, art and choreography. She has performed several roles with Festival Ballet Company in The Nutcracker, Beauty and the Beast, Swan Lake, and Peter Pan.

With this experience, Debra has assisted various churches in the middle Georgia area with establishing dance teams, classes, programs, and presentations. She founded the Potter's Hand Ministries on the basis of Romans 12:6-8:

"And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given us, let each exercise them accordingly; if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness."
